Though this look like a B12 Sentra “Sport Coupe” from some angles, it’s a 1988 Subie GL hatchback, which means you get 4WD as part of the mix. This would arguably be the ultimate winter beater in a snow state, but it would be a shame to encourage it to rust away.
This seems to be an honest used car with no particular issues. The only bad news is it’s not the turbocharged RX model, but you can’t have everything at a $2,550 asking price. The English in the ad text is a bit amusing, but my favorite line is:
“original oddmeter about 127k. mile”

Front looks like every other Subaru GL. Stock hubcaps are nice.
The profile brings out the hatchback coolness.
And the rear seals the deal, complete with 4WD decal. CHMSL is nicely integrated for a 1988 model, but 1987 was a change, so the 1986 regulation was considered in the design.

One response to “4WD, Manual Hatchback!”
That would indeed make a nice winter commuter, but like you say, the rust would begin pretty quickly. And I'm thinking one can do better than 30 MPG. My 2010 Santa Fe almost makes that.
Can an older, clean car be undercoated to prevent that from happening?
