A True Minivan: The Cushman Vanster

Okay, so it’s really a microvan. Anywho, if you don’t know Cushman, you probably haven’t paid much attention to the meter maid parking enforcement vehicles used in urban centers. These are sometimes road legal and are generally represent minimalist transporation, sometimes inside industrial facilities. Today’s feature vehicle is a Cushman of the four-wheel variety (some have three) and has a fully enclose cargo area, making it look like a can, though it lacks a back seat.

In addition to custom paint and tinted windows, this particular example has been tarted up with “Craiger” (we assume Cragar) wheel covers, LOTS of interior diamond plate and even a stereo. It is supposedly registered to run on Connecticut roads, but you’ll want to check with your state if you want to attempt the same, and we don’t recommend freeway use anywhere. The seller didn’t provide any useful details, but these were in the sub-20HP range.

No one will deny this thing is cute!

Yes, it has doors on both sides.

Rear is about what you’d expect. Note the license plate seems to confirm its road-legal nature.

Did we mention the diamond plate?

Here’s the cargo area with – you guessed it – more diamond plate!

Surely, you could get used to this shift pattern.
