Angular, Turbocharged 80s Goodness: Mitsubishi Cordia Turbo

The Cordia was a sporty, front-drive hatchback sold in the US by Mitsubishi through most of the 80s.  It was among the first cars they brought and sold through their own channels – previously, Mitsubishis were rebadged and sold through Chrysler’s networks (including Dodge and Plymouth).  These rarely come up and are quite an interesting oddity today.

This car has a claimed 62K miles and we don’t imagine there are a whole lot of these remaining in this condition.  The seller claims some dubious rarity that seems to explain the funky wheels, which actually aren’t bad on this car.

02/19/2014 update: SOLD for $5K

This is a good example of cool, aggressive 1980s styling.

Interior appears to be in great shape, save for the steering wheel wrap and possibly some dash cracks.  We like the seat and door panel pattern.

Ad text:

I was told that this  vehicle was built for hayashi racing in 1988, there where 40 made, and 5 was sold to public, not anyone, u had to bin in some sort of relation, or connection ?

The 5 that was built, this is the only 1 left to existence,

This is the story of the original owner,
He went to mitsubishi to purchase a turn signal  and had to contact Japan to get the part

That is where he got the story, and it matches the rims reaching team name

The car is ver clean and ready to be drivin
Engin is quite, no noise, and shifts very clean

Interior is like brand new, power windows for 88 =)
