We love the 411 series Datsun Bluebird, what with its groovy Pininfarina styling and bichin, curved dash. This ’66 is likely a 1.3-liter car. We’d prefer a 1967 with the 1.6L, but none of these is going to be fast. They’re fun in a slow way. These come up fairly often in poor condition, but this appears to be a complete an honest car and the seller claims to drive it regularly. The new owner can decide how long to wait before the paint job and how much to spend.
It’s hard to put a price on it without knowing the true rust story and without any under-hood shots, but we think $4,500 sounds about right if it’s truly a driver and has no significant rust issues.

This is mostly a formal sedan design, but the details reveal it’s not just a box. This generation represented a huge step in modernization for Datsun/Nissan, and that’s likely why the Italians were hired to help with the design. This wouldn’t look out of place among Italian sedans of its era.
The taillights on these are very cool, with perhaps a (tiny) hint of E-Type.
The dash is one of the most interesting features here, and it’s curvature comes off as fairly elegant considering the price position for this car. The four-speed is great to see – your humble host once drove an automatic version and it was fun in its own way. It also has a cool acrylic (?) lens for its PRNDL. Still, we’d rather drive the manual for the pure joy of it and for keeping the revs up.
This isn’t the biggest trunk, but it’ll hold your camp chair and a cooler to take to a car show or cruise-in. It could probably hold an extra engine, too.
