Another Oddball AWD Japanese Sedan

We recently posted a Camry All-Trac and realized we ought to give credit to another Japanese mid-size sedan with All-Wheel-Drive, the Mitsubishi Galant GS-X.  Yes, we could have chosen a Galant VR-4 for all-out performance, but most enthusiasts realize that car exists.  The GS-X, while likely much, much less fun to drive, is certainly the one to watch if you simply want rarity more than intrinsic value.

Bad news here is that the only one we could find using a national search on Craigslist (as well as other common sources), is a parts car!  That should tell you something.  I don’t even know if this has a manual or automatic trans.  Both were available.

I’m not sure whether Mitsu built more of these vs. VR-4.  I’d assume they planned to.  Regardless, a fair number of Galant VR-4s have been preserved to at least some extent and the poor GS-X has basically been forgotten.

Rare car, all wheel drive, dual over head cam 2.0L 4 cylinder. this is a Gsx not a vr-4 the difference is the vr-4 is turbo this is not it was opption that can be added.
