For years, enthusiasts, myself included, have enjoyed Dave Barton’s “Prancing Moose” Volvo decals and accessories. Out of the blue, however, Volvo has issued him a Cease and Dessist letter. Why the sudden change? We don’t know, but we wonder if its somewhat-new owner Geely sees value in license fees or sees this symbol as a threat to its brand.
Hopefully, this all works out. We can’t help but wonder whether there would be no issue if the “Volvo” letters were removed…
