Of course, Ford/Mercury never offered a convertible Capri from the factory, so this made a bit more sense. The flip side is that Capri volume was a small fraction of Mustang volume, so we don’t know if anyone made money on this deal. Regardless, only 50 were made for 1984, with numbers in the low hundreds for the 1985 and 1986 model years. The Capri died off entirely for 1987, so these efforts moved to Mustangs.
The seller of this car provides shockingly little information, but claims a recent tune-up and the seats show very little wear. If memory serves, those are Recaro seats, and may have been heated, which was a fairly big deal in the mid 1980s. Like so many, this is an automatic car, but these seemed to be used primarily as cruisers, anyway. If the miles are low and the condition is as good as it looks, this is quite a bit of rare car for the money.
