Ahh, the GM A-Body. Examples include the Chevy Celebrity and Pontiac 6000, along with our feature car, the Cutlass Ciera. These cars are not to be confused with the rear-wheel drive, two-door Cutlasses every family had in the early 80s, this is a front-wheel drive box.
If you must own and/or drive an A-Body, the only interesting ones are the Pontiac 6000 STE and this, the Cutlass Ciera XC. Each was a performance-oriented model aimed at European competitors, but the Olds’ styling has held up better vs. Pontiac’s six-eyed styling.
The XC included the FE3 performance suspension upgrades, euro-style wheels and red trim. From what I can tell, these were only offered in charcoal grey and white. Unfortunately, there’s no evidence that Olds offered the Getrag five-speed manual available on the Pontiac.
This car appears to be in good enough shape and has claimed mileage under 90K. If you must have a Cutlass Ciera, this is the one to get!

Delight in the boxiness of this rear end!
The “XC Special Edition” tape isn’t holding up perfectly. Did it match the rearward color at one time?
Interior is not bad. This is fairly standard 80s GM stuff, but the XC’s analog gauge kit looks better than alternatives.
Seats are in pretty good shape.
