The Vega’s successor, the Monza, was available with a few factory V8s, but the Vega never was. As some of the custom parts needed to swap in a V8 are included, this might not be TOO scary of a project. Engine mounts are the main item not mentioned, but those shouldn’t be the hardest parts to find/make. The buyer does get the oil pan and headers, which seem to me like some of the parts most likely to interfere.
I it were me, I’d finish the swap with a nice, torquey build and keep everything looking as stock as possible to yield a pretty awesome sleeper. Four of the dog dish/trim ring combos – like that seen on the front right – would suit this car just fine, maybe even with a little custom widening of the steel wheels…

The car looks pretty good in terms of body, but why does the front sit so high?
Here’s the cool, shooting brake profile.
Interior looks pretty good, though I wonder if a paintable dash cap is available vs. the rug.
Ample storage space is occupied by parts.
More parts – supposedly most of the custom parts needed for a V8 installation (presumably a SBC).
