Move over, Tesla, the Corbin Sparrow is still the king of EV cool. Sure, it’s not as quick, not as fast and doesn’t have anywhere near the range, but one has to love the shoe-like styling.
These were American-made and yet another attempt to change the future transportation. Like so many, this didn’t go well and a few hundred were made before bankruptcy and a sell-off. The $29K+ asking price surely didn’t help.
This 1999 Sparrow appears to be in good shape – the seller lists only a couple issues. What you get is a 30-mile range on 4 hours of charge time. I could feasibly commute in this, but would want to charge at work to be safe. The seller claims a top speed of 75 MPH. I imagine that would be terrifying…
The company that bought Corbin, Myers Motors, is still around, but, again like so many EV companies, takes resrvations and offers little info about the product. We’d rather roll the dice with an existing, used car!
