Corvette Down: Poorly Modified C3

Though this looks like a really bad Fiero custom from some angles, most will notice quickly that it’s not a mid-engine car.  Under this is a 1977 Corvette (AKA C3), which one can see in the roof line.

The seller claims this has some relation to Hendrick Motorsports, which, among other things, is a NASCAR team.  The valve covers do wear their logo, but the seller doesn’t any documentation on the background of this build.  That doesn’t really matter, though, because it’s not appealing to our eyes.  Fittingly, this also contains an automatics trans.

Apparently, however, fifteen people find it appealing enough for a bid and at least one thinks it’s worth almost $10K – probably as much as a stock ’77 Vette in good shape.

The poorly-executed Testarossa bits are obvious, but we also see poorly-executed Viper in the front end.

Did we mention this was poorly executed?

Seeing the overall width versus the original Corvette bits makes us wonder if they just built this over the original body.  Maybe this can shed its questionable threads like a cheap suit?

We don’t know where to begin with the rear. This shows a true lack of design.

We see shapes dictated by the C3 guts; but almost everything has been swapped or visually altered.

Seats don’t look like standard C3 units, but they came out of something.

Here’s the 350 (5.7 liter for youngsters) V8.  The seller claims it’s a Hendrick engine, but it’s not clear what that means – it could just mean valve covers.
