Including the wind wings, stock Vanagons have ten windows. Someone decided investing in additional windows and strange trim for a Vanagon was a better idea than finding a real Type 2. Admittedly, I can see how multi-window T2 auction prices might drive one to do this, these days.
In addition to the windows, this one also has strange molding added on to imitate Type 2 and its grill has been removed. This likely means it zero air through the vents, so defrosting is unlikely, but the top probably doesn’t allow much of a temp or humidity delta vs. the outside, anyway. Also, this air cooled model probably never heated well in the first place. It’s a good thing this is air cooled, as it means the seller didn’t remove its sole source of engine cooling. Bottom line: this is an oddity looking for just the right second (?) owner – someone at least as strange as the seller.

Is there any chance in hell this top doesn’t leak??
Debadged rear makes for a sporty appearance? Blend in with every debadged, small-engine BMW on the road!
Custom touches, such as dash color (oddly including badge from the exterior) and door panels blend strangely with bone stock lower dash and control. To each his own. Interestingly, the color combo makes this 80s beast look like it came straight out of 1974.
The interior looks set for an OSU tailgate party!
Engine appears to be unmolested.

this looks dangerous….So much for any rigidity in that roof. Looks like every single structural rib is gone. I'm guessing it would pretty much wishbone in any accident.
Actually, it looks like they have one rib intact.
