Dodge Lancer – not a Mitsubishi

Yes, the Lancer was, off and on, a Dodge.  It existed in the late 50s to early 60s, then reappeared as a Chrysler Lebaron clone in the late 80s.

Like most K-car derivatives, the Lancer was available with the 2.2L turbo inline four, in this case with 175HP, which was nothing to sneeze at.  This Shelby version had suspension and styling tweaks which made for a cool package, though it also loaded up the features and, presumably, weight.  This pales somewhat in comparison to the Spirit RT that would replace it and had engine massaging from Lotus.

With 55K miles, you won’t likely find a nicer Shelby Lancer and, with no reserve on this auction, the market will be allowed to speak.

05/14/2013 update: SOLD for $5,400 with 33 bids.

Proper turbo labeling is in place…
Interior is not bad for a late 80s car.  We don’t see much that would be Shelby-specific.
