We’ve featured one of these before, they come up pretty often and, because they predated the 280ZX turbo by one whole year, the cars aren’t particularly amazing, but we feel compelled to post this one.
First off, this one has a completely insane price, despite the claimed 8,700 original miles and apparently great condition. We can only assume the seller shared ‘goodies’ with the guy above. Second, we love any excuse to yet again post a link to arguably the best car ad ever.
My love of this ad goes back to my early days working at the OEM that produced this vehicle and commissioned the ad. Sadly, as of about 2008, the current agency couldn’t figure out the identity of “Black Gold Guy” (AKA BGG). Given this car likely launched in 1979 for the 1980 model year, we’re not sure he lived to see the 80s. We sure hope he did, though.
