Anyone reading here probably knows a thing or two about Kei cars, the tiny Japanese treats which get around certain Japanese tax laws. This Autozam AZ-1 has a bit of a confusing lineage, given Autozam is a Mazda brand but the car was design and built by Suzuki, who also sold a version. Regardless, we like the idea of a gullwing Kei and we like the idea of a mid-mounted, turbocharged I3 with a five-speed manual.
This car appears to be in good shape, but the photos don’t help a whole lot. It appears to be with a San Diego dealer, but there are many references to Canada in the ad and no location provided.
The big question: Can it be registered for US (and CA) roads? Not all of us have dealer plates available…

09/02/2013 update: SOLD for $15,100 with 44 bids
We wonder what this scoop cools, given the mid-engine layout.
9K redline!
Does anyone know what’s in the bag?
