We love Volvo Bricks and,of course, love Turbo Bricks even more. The seller gives a good amount of info here and this seems like a great, original car. With one of these, the teacher’s car story fits perfectly. The only downside is it’s severely lacking in clutch pedal.
Would you keep it as-is and hope the boost makes it fun with an AT or convert to MT? Hmm…

07/22/2013 update: Seller ended auction early – presumably, it sold.
We’re not usually white car fans, but this one looks great, especially with the clean, original Virgo wheels. Maybe it’s the refrigerator styling that makes white okay here.
Interior looks great and we like the color combo on this car.
Nice ‘n clean under the hood.

You are bidding on probably the nicest original Volvo 242 Turbo Coupe in this country. These cars were quite rare to begin with and are becoming more difficult to find in this condition.
Like all good cars this one has a story. It was purchased new in 1984 by a school teacher in Phoenix AZ at the local Volvo dealership. She always kept it garaged and serviced at the dealer. When she decided to sell, she contacted the original sales rep who was a family friend. The car was so well maintained he bought the Volvo and drove it for several years before selling the car. I am the third owner and proud to be offering this vehicle to the next owner. The only reason I’m selling is that I have too many cars and my wife has been pressuring me to clear out the garage.
As you can see by the photos this car has been meticulously cared for, garaged, babied, and serviced since new. It is all original to include wheels, floor mats, Volvo mud flaps, factory turbo intercooler and the engine only has 127,298. The car has a clean South Carolina title and CARFAX. I have years of service records, the original radio, a Volvo toolkit, and the spare wheel is the rare Volvo Virgo Wheel. The tires are brand new Michelin Harmony.
Only known issues: Rear upper seat has split due to age and the front dash has one crack. If you are looking for an average 240 series Volvo this is NOT your car.
Good Luck bidding on this exceptional vehicle
