It’s no secret that we love Datsuns – particularly these early, Pininfarina-styled 411s and especially in wagon form. Back in October, we featured a red Datsun 411 wagon with fairly serious needs. Today’s feature is the same model in the same color, but appears to need absolutely nothing. Which you you prefer?
According to the seller, this is a two-family car with 34K miles and in essentially perfect condition. The photos appear to back up those claims. We all know the Japanese classic car market is strong – the only question here is whether it’s THIS strong. Cars like this have traded in the well-under-$10K range for a long time, but this one is in truly exceptional condition. Is it worth well over $10K?

Given the designer, it’s not a complete surprise, but this could pass for a European car of the era. Not that we wouldn’t proudly present it as a Datsun. We don’t mind the period driving lamps, either.
The cool styling carries over to the rear, with subtle curves and cool, low tail lights.
The slight beltline slope in the rear perfectly follows the roof line. Stock wheels are perfect on this car.
We’ve gushed over this dash design before. It’s simple, yet elegant. The four-speed manual is needed to try to wring power out of this car’s tiny four cylinder.
Rear seat area is purely functional and in great shape.
Although this car is tiny, the cargo space is pretty impressive.
Under the hood, this car looks honest and original – not “too clean”, but proper for a low mileage car. This 1.3L bad boy puts out a little less than 70HP.

Li’l Red Wagon: 1967 Datsun 411 Wagon only 34k miles!
Outstanding condition, runs perfectly, all records, manuals, window sticker, 90% original paint, original interior and really cute! This 1967 Datsun 411 Wagon is essentially a two family owner car; stored and maintained for years by the family that owned the Datsun Dealership that imported the car. Driven only 34k miles, this little red wagon is a time warp. MSRP in 1967 was $1916. But, even then a 411 Wagon was rare and today irreplaceable.
The 67HP inline 1300cc engine starts, runs, and revs perfectly. No smoke, doesn’t burn oil and sounds wonderful! The 4 speed manual trans is very positive as it the clutch. Brakes very good and although drums stop the car quickly. Yes, fun to drive and gets a load of attention. Lights and gauges all work. Period looking aftermarket driving lights are a nice touch and the only non-stock external fitment. Exhaust has been replace with a full stainless system and has a very pleasant little growl. Tires are new. Interior is superb, no tears in upholstery, dash is perfect, carpet is overall excellent but one small wear point at driver’s footwell. Headliner and rear hatch pad is superb. Rubber trim excellent befitting indoor storage and only 34k miles. Paint is wonderful; good luster and shine mostly original with some scratch repair done on the rear quarter. Wheel caps superb and chrome and trim extremely nice for original. Manual set, full service documentation and original keys with the car. CA black and yellow period plates.
Great Sunday cars and coffee runner, wonderful for a beach trip surfboard atop and where do you find another!
