The original Elite was a beautiful car and among the first street cars produced by Lotus. This Type 75 Elite, however, is one of the Rodney Dangerfields of Loti – it gets no respect.
This odd looking hatchback offers a Lotus twin cam four cylinder and, from what we’ve read, amazing handling. As with the Europa, you just have to look past the skin. Bad news here is that this hasn’t started in ten years. Still, it could be quite the catch for a marque specialist.

Lotus decided to make a 4 passenger sports car and this is the result. Not a convertible, not very sporty, but it certainly is different. Has under 15k actual miles!
4 cylinder engine with dual side-draft carburetors, overhead cams, 5 speed transmission, power windows, AC, leather seats. Paint is presentable, interior needs to be cleaned and the headliner re-attached, among other things, but the leather is ok.
Not for the faint of heart. This car has not been started in 10 years. Although it turns over with what appears to be good compression, it is not getting the spark it needs to fire. New tires, battery, coil and fuses. Attention will need to be put into the brakes, coolant, fuel lines, etc. Also, the shifter linkage is very loose and needs to be adjusted.
If you are mechanically inclined or have a friend you can lure into helping with lots of beer, give this a look over.
