Give the size of the supercharger atop this Jag’s Chevy engine, we imagine is has a bit of belt whine.
Apparently, this car was built up around ten years ago. It’s a strange build, as it’s clearly Pro-Stock in appearance, but has a finished interior and power windows. The seller makes many references to it being built for the street, but this seems like an odd choice anywhere except on a drag strip. Turning doesn’t seem like its forte.
It’s clear that a lot of work went in, so the current $8,600 bid is likely well under the build cost. The question is whether someone else would have chosen to build this and thus whether anyone will pay nearly the cost.

This isn’t exactly a sleeper from the front, what with the protruding blower and drag wheels.
The XJS has classic lines, even when extensively modified.
Rear view reveals massive drag tires in tubs. Note lack of a V12 badge. 🙂
Interior is mostly custom and nowhere near as luxurious as stock, but is actually pretty well finished out for a drag car. Note the oddly-located tach.
Sitting back here is not recommended! Those are the tubs, not seat backs.
Even the fuel cell is finished out in the same grey carpet. The trunk looks nice enough, but there’s not much space there. This car is meant to haul only ass.
Here’s a close-up of the small block Chevy’s massive B&M supercharger. We can hear the belt whine just looking at this one.
Things are finished out under the hood, too. Apparently, those are Corvette manifolds, but we’re surprised to see cast iron under the hood, instead of big-tube headers.
