Pre-War (Barely) Crosley

We’ve posted a few Crosleys over the years, but this is the first time we’ve seen a pre-war Crosley for sale.  The Crosley was designed to be the most affordable four-wheeled transportation available, and it shows.  What that means today is these are cool little microcars for weekend drives (though perhaps not on the freeway).

As the seller states, this car needs a full restoration, but, aside from the interior, it is complete and almost rust-free.  The two-cylinder engine and three-speed trans are present, but one should assume rebuilds will be necessary.  Whomever takes on and finishes this project will have a very, very cool slice of microcar history and something almost unique.

Styling – well, there isn’t much here.  This is purely utilitarian and was designed to meet a price point.

With no sense of scale, it looks like it would be tough to reach over this hood, but the entire car is tiny.

The front end has a bit of style to it, especially considering it’s a late 30s/early 40s design.

Rear is quite simple.
