Preserved, but why?

An aunt of one of us here at Oddimotive HQ once had one of these in yellow.  This beige one is awfully close and reminds us of just how boring  this body style was.

This ad is interesting for a few reasons:
1) Insanely low mileage and great condition, but why?
2) The brochure and marketing bits included in the ad are great.  GM even touted the Teflon(R) coating on part of the leaf springs.
3)  We don’t see HP listed – did they want to be Rolls Royce and be above quoting it, or is output on an 8:1 compression 350 so low it’s embarassing?  We think it’s both.

As of press time: $1,025 with 4 bids and no reserve
The no reserve auction will be interesting – true market value!
Update 03/28/2013:  Someone got this beauty for $8,600.  As always, it’ll be interesting to see if it pops up again.
Interior looks brand new…

There a lot going on under the hood, but it’s amazingly clean.
