Ramcharger de Mexico

To the extent Americans think about the Ramcharger, we usually think about the 1974 to 1993 version. Like its Bronco and Blazer competitors, it was based on a full-sized pickup. In the 1990s, Ford and GM continued in this market with the Expedition (four-door only) and a next-gen Blazer (quickly renamed Tahoe and then limited to four doors). Chrysler abandoned the full-size SUV market in the US just before it peaked and never offered a four-door variant. What few here realize, however, is that they offered a next-gen Ramcharger in Mexico, based on the wildly popular 1994+ Ram.

The plates on this don’t look like standard California issue, so I have no idea what it takes to register and drive this. That’s too bad, as it’s basically a Ram, which was sold here. The seller specifically mentions a new catalytic converter, so at least is has one…

The condition appears to be pretty good, although the mileage isn’t listed. If you can figure out registration, this will be a cool truck and certainly something different.

I remember seeing one or two of these on the road back in the day and liking the style. The Ram still wears this SUV body well.

The seat shows a little wear, but the interior isn’t bad, overall.

There’s a seat back there!

You can’t see much here, but this is the good ‘ol 360 (AKA 5.9), which didn’t have a massive horsepower figure, but, befitting a truck, puts out quite a few torques.
