No, we didn’t misspell Taurus! There was a German-built Ford called the Taunus for a great many decades.
The seller of this example confidently states “if you want an old car to work on this is your best bet.” I’m not sure about that, but it’s likely this car can be saved. There’s no paint of which to speak, but the metal isn’t all bad. The interior is all there, but dirty as hell and in need of re-upholstery.
So, what makes this an Oddimobile? First, it’s not clear why this car is in the US. Second, there is apparently no engine in the car, but it comes with a Volvo engine (looks like a B-Series) and manual trans – possibly at a higher price. This car was never sold with it, so why the Volvo? I suspect anyone taking on this project will put a more powerful engine in, but the B-Series Volvo four cylinder can make some good power and torque for its size.

By American standards, this was a small car in 1959, but in its home market of Germany, this was a large family car.
Front end clearly needs some work – I think it was puking when it gazed upon Medusa.
Rear end has subtle (for the late 50s) fins and cool bumper-exit exhausts.
Interior needs a massive clean out and clean up, then one can assess what it needs. It’s all there, though (plus some extra?).
The seller includes and unspecified Volvo engine – never a factory option in this vehicle.
Volvo trans comes with it, too.
