Rarely Seen in Good Shape: 1997 Honda Del Sol VTEC

I didn’t really like these new, but they grew on me.  Targa top, cool Mercury Breezeway-inspired lowering rear window plus VTEC and a manual trans should make for some pretty good fun.

This one claims 88K original miles, so you won’t likely find a nicer one.  The pictures certainly show it’s in great shape and this a desirable build and color combo.  All that said, is it worth anywhere near $10K??

Rare, low mileage, late 1997 Honda del Sol with VTEC DOHC engine in excellent condition. Five-speed manual transmission. Targa top, stows in the trunk.

Own a sports car without the hassle of high repair bills!

I bought the car from its original owner @ 24,000 miles in 2003. It now has 88,000 miles on it. It is extremely unusual to find a Honda del Sol VTEC for sale with low miles, especially one in such good condition. To my knowledge, this car has never been in an accident, nor has it ever been driven outside the state of California. It has been meticulously maintained in full compliance with the Honda recommended maintenance schedule by Robert DiMauro in Goleta.

Features:
* Cruise control
* Driver and passenger air bags
* Power windows
* Air conditioning
* New speakers
* Super cool “rear window” that goes up/down behind the seats
* Surprisingly spacious trunk for a sports car
* Added car alarm with kill switch
* Added 6 CD changer
* Newer tires

The car rides low to the ground, which makes it prone to getting “rock dings” on the front end. I had the front end re-painted last year for this reason. I have an OEM “bra” which I’ll give to the successful buyer.

This car takes premium fuel only. Gas mileage is mid- to upper-20s or better per gallon, depending on how aggressively you drive it. Good luck with that ;-).

Personally, I think this car would make an *excellent* Valentine’s Day gift. Just sayin’!

Yah, ok, you are pretty much gonna have to pry this car loose from my hands. But the truth is, I am moving soon, and will no longer have a garage, and simply cannot live with the notion of it getting run down on my watch.

Call or email with any questions.

Please don’t waste my time or yours:
* If the ad is still posted here on Craigslist, the car is still for sale.
* If you email to ask if “the item” is still for sale, I will assume it is spam and will not respond.
* If you email only to ask for my “real” email address, I will assume it is spam and will not respond.
* I am not looking for a broker to sell this car for me. That’s why it is listed on Craigslist.
Thanks for your consideration.

    Rarely seen in good shape? Heck, I'd say these are rarely seen period. And only 88k miles? Holy crap.
