This front-wheel drive two-door vaguely resembles Chevy’s NASCAR entries in the early 90s much like today’s Camry vaguely resembles Toyota’s entry. Given this body was used in the race series, the Lumina was subjected to NASCAR Special Edition treatment! This particular version celebrates the late, great Dale Earnhardt. If you’re a die hard NASCAR fan, this should be right up your alley – assuming you don’t really enjoy driving.
Under all the NASCAR regalia, this is just a Lumina and, while it’s the “Euro 3.1” version, it’s not exciting. The 3.1-liter V6 put out 140 horsepower and 185 torques. That was decent at the time, but this was no match for a supercharged or V8 Thunderbird or Cougar at the time – not to mention a Taurus SHO if you insist on a FWD match-up.
The seller claims this one has 5,724 original miles, and the condition and odometer back that up. Does the Earnhardt link mean someone will consider this collectible? We imagine it is to some level, but we’re not sure what a non-NASCAR Euro 3.1 with under 6K miles would bring in today’s market because no one bothered to preserve one.

These weren’t terribly styled cars as two-doors, but the body kit and “Euro” bits overpromised. This “special” has Dale’s signature and other added decals.
More decals…
Wait – we can spot one more decal and a ‘special’ badge on the rear.
Even the head restraints have “specialness.”
Low miles…
Doesn’t everyone want a signed Lumina OM?
