Here we have a Scout II Patriot Edition, claimed to be one of 200. The Patriot edition came with a cool red, white and blue color scheme and has a hardtop, unlike the otherwise similar Spirit of ’76 edition. This car also has the XLC package, which apparently means eXtra Load Capacity and was the tow package.
The seller claims very good mechanical condition and original condition interior. One photo reveals a minor impact to one rear corner, but it does look straight otherwise. The only interior photos included are almost useless, but don’t bring up major concerns.
I’ve always liked these as cool Bronco alternatives, and the groovy special edition makes this one cooler. eBay will tell us whether the reserve is realistic…

Less than 200 Scout Patriots ever made!! This one has all the options XLC, Dana rear differential, the bigger 345 V8, even AC and removable hard top. The body and interior are in original condition but is very, very nice. Any specific questions or pics wanted I can provide. Don’t want to have to sell but need to generate some funds. Just had a tune up, new fuel pump, filter, wheels and tires. Brand new custom dual exhaust just installed. Bought this from a customer of our auto shop and fixed up the running gear to be a nice driver. The previous owner drove it very little and kept it in storage over the last 20 years. A great driver as is, or a wonderful frame off restoration candidate for the ultimate, rare, low number classic Scout.
