We have to admit that we’re suckers for funky taillights, and not
since the Nissan Pulsar have we seen such a wonderful example as this
Fiat Brava, spotted on our recent trip to Florence, Italy. One
could perhaps appreciate these rear lamps as a vintage 80’s styling
trademark, however Fiat missed that fad by about 10 years, having
launched this model in 1995. We suspect it looked dated at launch
timing, and that makes us love this car even more! The graceful,
but stubby hood, terminating above a cluster of low profile
headlamps, also seems to evoke another classic Nissan, the NX2000.
Had a 5 door version of the NX been produced, it might have looked
something like this. In fact, the 3-door version of this car (the
cleverly named Fiat Bravo)
does resemble the NX, albeit with a much more upright, VW Golf-like
roof line. -ES
