There was a Diamonte Wagon?

Yes, it seems there was.  Every now and then, one of my searches yields something I never knew existed.  This is one of them.

The Diamonte was Mitsubishi’s attempt to get into the Japanese luxury fray, much like Mazda’s attempts with the 929 and Millenia.  I just never knew they made a wagon.  Good news here is a smooth, 3.0-liter V6 and reasonably luxurious interior, at least by early 90s standards.  Bad news is this example seems to have a lot of seemingly small needs, but currently won’t start.  That could be big or small.  One thing is clear: The seller thinks it is worth $770 at a minimum.  I’d like to see that spreadsheet.

$800 (or $770?)

The seller claims all Limiteds had this paint scheme.  If so, it fit right in with the Lexus ES and later Infiniti I.

This doesn’t look bad.  Was a manual available?  The presence of the hand brake suggests there might have been.

3.0L V6 should move this thing pretty well, but likely isn’t exactly exciting.

I have a RUST FREE 1993 Diamante wagon that I was going to restore. I’m injured so realistically I’m probably not going to get to it soon. It’s rust free because I purchased it from the South and had it shipped to me. The shippers put 69 miles on it so I know it runs. I drove it into my driveway and have not driven it since. I did start it every month or so including the winter too. A week ago I tried to start it and it wouldn’t start. It will run off starting fluid from the throttle body so the electronics before it wouldn’t get damaged. That’s where I am now with the car and I’ve decided to sell it.
The 1993 Diamante wagon was rare, but the sedan parts fit it. I put a Link below for a test drive report for when they were new. That report says it’s car was $28,000, but the Limited Edition was even nicer! It was Mitsubishi’s attempt to compete with Lexus. They drive like a Lexus and are tighter and sportier than any wagon I’ve ever driven.
The previous owner told me he rebuilt the head and put a new timing belt on it. It has a 3.0 V6 engine that’s really reliable with an automatic transmission. It has a factory sunroof (also called a moonroof), leather, cruise, air, power windows and locks. All work, but I’ve never tested the AC.
Here’s what I know it needs: The exhaust makes a 90 degree turn as it comes down from the engine to run under the vehicle. That 90 degree elbow needs replaced. It’s not loud, but you don’t want to be driving a car with exhaust escaping directly in front or below you. It’s not an expensive fix. The front lip of the hood was dented and the front bumper be repainted. The previous owner tapped the dent out. You can’t tell it dented from 10 feet away. I think because of the dented hood that the airbag must have gone off because it’s missing. It also needs a radio. The windshield has a few cracks in it. It should be replaced, but t’s not that bad and does not hinder your view. The moonroof wind deflector needs a piece reattached that makes it fold down when the sunroof is closing. It still works, BUT you need to remember to hold the wind deflector down by hand as the sunroof is closing. The leather interior needs conditioner. The only hole is in the drivers left seat back side boltster. Some of the aftermarket window tinting has bubbled. It needs to be taken off or have water injected into the bubbles so it will re-adhere. I think its starting problem is from the few gallons of gas in it going bad. I just put in 4 gallons of fresh gas and it wouldn’t start. I haven’t tried starting it again off of starting fluid to see if it will stay started. It’s possible that the fuel pump went bad or the fuel filter needs replaced. Both aren’t expensive items.

**************This car has to be towed so you can get it running and you’re sure it’s reliable enough to be road worthy***************************

The first two pictures are of this Diamante. That’s unwashed. It should buff and wax nicely! The other pictures are of another Diamante I have that I’ll sell too. I’m posting those just so you can see what a Limited Edition Diamante wagon looks like. All the Limited Edition wagons were painted white with the silver lower.

**********I am firm on the $770 price. I might trade for something else so if you have something worth at least $770 or more please tell me what you have. My price barely covers the cost I paid to ship it to me from the South!!!**********************
