This Blass is not Blasé

When’s the last time you saw a Lincoln Mark VII in good shape?  Yeah, we thought it had been a while.  We generally prefer the sportier LSC, but this Bill Blass edition brings back memories of the family of two brothers and good friends back in the day.  Plus, well, designer co-brands fit in beautifully here at Oddimotive.

The Bill Blass edition was pretty tame by domestic designer co-brand standards, but the wire wheel covers certainly date it.  There was Blass wording on the quarter window glass and the seats are unique.  This one perfectly wears its geriatric beige on beige – all the better to provide a bit of sleeper cover for the torquey 302 under the hood.  Also, if we’re not mistaken, the Mark VII with JBL audio was one of the first cars with branded audio.

Update:  SOLD for undisclosed offer.

The rear air suspension appears to be okay here – many are either sitting on the ground or jacked up.

This is something of a Mark VII money shot…the Continental Kit appearance.

Here are those Blass-specific seat patterns.  These Lincolns didn’t share too many visible interior parts with their Cougar and T-Bird siblings.

This Lincoln Continental  Mark 7 Bill Blass Special Edition 2-door coupe is in excellent condition and looks brand new.  It has been enclosed garage kept and only driven less than 35000 miles.  It was unused for the past 24 to 25 years.  The transmission dried out from being  unused .  It  was completely rebuilt this year. .  The paint, inside leather and carpeted floor all look unused.  The Michelin Tires only have about 2000 miles on them and it has never been wrecked.  The entire outside has no dents, only minor scratch or two that probably could be  buffed out.  The chrome has an excellent shine.
