This Jaguar XJS-C is Waiting for a Heart

We previously featured one of these groovy Jaguar XJS-Cs in good condition.  These oddballs have removable panels and, as pseudo-convertibles, allow drivers to enjoy pseudo-open-air motoring.  This was something of a stopgap measure before the full convertible joined the lineup later in this car’s 20-ish year lifecycle.  Naturally, we’re fans here at Oddimotive, as this car fits right in.

A major concern with just about most any XJS is the V12 engine and associated complexity.  Many people yank those an insert American V8 power.  The beauty here is that this car is ready for that treatment, as no engine or transmission is included in the sale!  Consider this your sub-$1K blank canvas and paint your own tribute to fine, British grand touring.

Hmm…mismatched wheels and left on jack stands for who knows how long.  The rear wheel is an interesting choice for this car, as it would look more at home on a van or muscle car.  Also, what’s up with the finish on the door?

I’m quite certain this hood scoop came from a 1969 or 1970 Mustang.  As a matter of fact, I have one on my ’70.  The real question is whether they hooked up the integrated turn signals and/or cut a hole in the hood.

The exhaust appears to have fallen off.  Was that process aided by corrosion of metal or of a rubber hanger?

Interior could use some love, but is mostly there (?).
