In case you haven’t been paying attention, converting old diesel vehicles to run on veggie oil – basically waste product from fried food – is a counterculture trend right now. I find the whole thing interesting because it appeals to gearheads who want to engineer a way around ‘the system’ as much as to those interested in recycling veggie oil and getting off of newly-refined fossil fuels.
This vehicle takes one or both of those positions to the extreme.
As the seller states, “they can see you coming from outer space in this Green Machine.” The exterior is painted bright green, and the theme carries over into the interior. As for the car itself, it has a bit over 150K miles, which, in older M-B diesel terms, means it might not even be broken in.
Will the seller find anyone else on this planet interested enough to buy and drive this car? As a side note, veggie oil burners call themselves greasers, so the ad text does not contain references to Pony Boy and his friends on The Outsiders (filmed in Tulsa, OK!).

When we said bright green, we meant it. It appears that the lower trim and wheels are also white, for a nice, stark contrast.
No, I don’t know what is in the rear window.
Here’s a shot of the upholstery work – the white and bright green theme carries over. Because the green wasn’t enough, the seat backs were treated to tree patterns embossed in the leather (or pleather?).
The rear seats have the same pattern.
I’m guessing this is a control for an outside speaker or horn, but I’m not sure. Apparently, one can play it like a small keyboard…
