We’re sure our readers don’t get enough Nigerian bank scam emails, so we offer up this ad.

The Tropica seems to have been another failed EV venture, this one built in Florida.  This claims to be the only Tropica outside the US, so we’re not sure why the seller decided it needed to go on US eBay.  Oh well, it’s an interesting looking car, with shockingly little detail available from the seller.  After all, why include an interior shot when everyone knows the Tropica so well?

You have unique opportunity to get the piece of EV history – Renaissance Cars Tropica EV! This amazing electric roadster was built in 1995 by Renaissance Cars company. This start-up company produced only about 25 roadsters, but after all stopped production because of bankruptcy. Only a few cars remained on the road, so this is very rare and hard-to-find car.

You can find a lot of information about this car in internet (history, detailed specifications, etc.). There is also Yahooo group (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/tropica_ev/)  of owners and funs of these cars.

Listed car is in very good condition, low miles, one of the first Tropica cars – it has VIN  4HRAA11P8SA000003. Two electric motors drive rear wheels. Maximum speed – 70 mph. Previously the car had lead-acid batteries (the same as in golf-cars). But I installed new, modern lithium battery, that makes the car lighter, quicker and provide more range per one charge (about 200+ km). Also I have made several minor improvments that makes it more efficient and convinient for usage: new charger, charging port at the front, etc. But I can get back original batteries and original parts if new owner wish.
