Probably, a great many things are weirder; but this is still entertaining, to say the least.
I don’t believe those hood scoops were stock on this scooptie, but the transverse-mounted 5.3L pushrod driving the front wheels was indeed. GM shoehorned an LS4 5.3L V8 into this body to create this Grand Prix GXP, along with the Monte Carlo and Impala SS and the Buick Lacrosse (not called that in Canada!) Super. This was not the same 5.3L used in trucks, as this had a an aluminum block.

By this time, Pontiac’s styling had cleaned up and the cladding factor had been reduced. Luckily, this car’s owner remedied that with add-on crap.
Wait – the trunk lid to taillight interface reveals the last vestiges of Pontiac’s ‘straking.’
Interior is less Playskool vs. many previous GM designs. Round, eyeball vents harken back to the GM days of old.
