Why just have a Midget when you can have a King Midget?

The King Midget company made a few models for a few decades, mostly offered to hobbyist types in magazine ads proclaiming it was a 500-pound car for $500.  These have single-piston engines with ratings generally under 10 horsepower, so don’t let the sporty (?) looks fool you.

We previously featured a Model III King Midget, but today’s car is a Model 2.  The seller says this has been customized. It looks like the bumpers and rear lamp(s) are different, as well as the steering wheel and dash.  Still, this might be the “custom” model, based on the ‘grill’, hood and from parking lights.

What’s not to love?

Is that a Model A trail/brake light?

Dash is simple.  Who needs a speedometer or odometer?

Wisconsin engines are correct for these cars, so this could be original.  Is that red overspray I see?

Acquired from local collector who restored, updated and slightly modified the vehicle approximately 15 years ago.  Has been in dry storage since that time.  Original Wisconsin engine, new 6 volt battery, starts and runs fine.  Transmission shifts forward/reverse properly and has been fitted with an updated clutch assembly.  Electrical system seems to be functional with all lights working properly.  Windshield wiper does not work.  Carlisle tires are very serviceable and should have no problems.  Paint is respectable with only minor touch ups and a few trailer rashes and scrapes.  Vehicle could be shown, “However it is not a National 1st prize winner.”  A great opportunity to acquire a KING MIDGET Series II with clean Michigan title.  As with any antique or collector car no warranty implied or given.  For sale locally and may end auction early.  $500 non refundable deposit due within 48 hours after the end of auction.  Local pick up only or buyer must arrange all shipping and expenses.

PS:  Mileage is unknown – no speedometer
