We’re at risk of being called a Fox Capri site at this point, but we’ve had such good ones come along recently that we have to keep posting them. On December 15, we posted a 1985 V8 Capri GS and on Christmas Eve, we posted a 1985 ASC McLaren Capri convertible.
Today, we have another rare beast: a 1984 Capri RS Turbo. These were only available in one color combination and for one year. These shared an engine with the also rare Mustang Turbo GT and the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe/Cougar XR7. Unfortunately, this is the non-intercooled version of the 2.3L turbo four, so output is lower than in Mustang SVO and later T-Birds, but 145 horsepower in a lighter package wasn’t bad in ’84, especially with 180 ft-lbs of torque.
The seller claims this one has been restored, though we don’t now what the prior condition might have been. Regardless, the images certainly show a perfect car.
The asking price here is high, but it will be very hard to find another.
