Yes, this is a rare (especially outside Japan) Honda Beat Kei Car. This little beast has a 0.7L, three cylinder engine and weighs just about nothing. 0-60 wasn’t impressive by today’s standards, due primarily to a lack of torque, but we imagine this would be amazingly fun to drive.
The seller claims this car is in excellent condition with only a few blemishes. Notably, the asking price includes shipping to the US. The car is now 25 years old; so EPA shouldn’t mind. You might want to check with your state’s DMV, however.

What’s not to love here? Tiny roadster styling still look fairly contemporary. The headlight wrapping into the wheel opening is an interesting way to get full-size headlamp assemblies onto a narrow face.
The rear 3/4 proportions are slightly awkward, which goes with the mid-engine territory.
The interior is rumored to be pretty roomy and this photo appears to back that up. We dig the funky seat cloth pattern, as well as the cool gauge pod. Dash speaker arrangement is also a cool touch.
Here’s the driver’s view (more or less). We love the white-faced tach with well-marked red line.
There is a bit of space behind the engine compartment, but the battery gives a sense of scale and reveals that there’s not a ton of room. If you were thinking golf bag, we’re thinking no.
Yes, the “hood” opens, but the spare takes up that space.

When have you seen one of these around , here whe have my 1991 early Vin number Honda Beat , and even more hard to find this one has NO rust and is in very good used condition , The car drives great and all gears work very well , the Honda had a 1000$ new soft top about a year ago (genuine Honda) . its starts great . The AC needsgas . the body is totally rust free , there is a small scratch on the left had lower rear panel ,and the top of the front bumper has some sun fading. I had the car in my private collection and used it on a couple of car show. When parked nexst to a normal car you see how small it really is . it fits in a the back of a full seize pick up . nice also to tow behind a RV. A rust free honda Beat is a hard to find item even in Japan so if you’re a micro car collector have a look . commes with owners manuel and books
The car is from 1991 !!!!!! 25 years old so legal to import in the US , I had to write down 1980 AS EBAY dose not take the vin number .
THE BUY IT NOW PRICE IS INCLUDING SCHIPPING TO THE USA , I do all the paperwork on my side bring the car to the port and have it shipped to any US or Canadian MAIN port !!!! you just have to collect it pay local tax and drive it home . have a look at my feedback , buying and selling all over the world for over 40 years , perfect feedback recent sold a Land rover to the US .
The Honda Beat is a rear wheel drive, mid-engined two-seat roadster kei car produced from May 1991 to February 1996. The Beat was the last car to be approved by Soichiro Honda before he died in 1991. Most of the production (around two-thirds) occurred in the first year, and then production and sales fell drastically and not many good ones where left . The design of the car came from Pininfarina, who then sold the design plan to Honda. The Beat was one of many cars designed to take advantage of Japan’s tax-efficient kei car class.[2]
There were two mainstream models of the Beat (the PP1–100 and the PP1–110) and a couple of limited edition versions. Variations on the first model were just cosmetic updates. Only the second model had any real mechanical differences. All cars were offered with the option of a driver’s side airbag. The car was sold exclusively in Japan at Honda Primo dealership sales channels.
In typical Honda fashion, the Beat’s engine did not utilize a turbocharger or supercharger. The 656 cc (40.0 cu in) engine was modified with the MTREC (Multi Throttle Responsive Engine Control) system, with individual throttle bodies for each of the three cylinders, to produce 64 PS (63 bhp) at 8100 rpm with an electronically limited top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph). Only a manual transmission was available. The MTREC design would filter down to the 1993 Honda Today kei car.
The Honda beat is now a highly collectible micro car , loved by many Japanese and micro car collectors
